Hailstorm Kills Three, Wreaks Havoc in Khorasan

BOJNOURD -- A violent hailstorm lashed Iran's northeastern Province of Khorasan Saturday afternoon raining hailstones the size of a chicken's egg that killed three and injured two others.
Shirvan Deputy Governor Hamid Mohtashami said, "The hailstorm, which hit the northern part of the province, also triggered flash floods that overturned a tractor, killing two and injuring two others, the storm also ruined crops and shattered windows of houses," adding that authorities are currently estimating the damage caused.
In a related news, a farmer was killed when a lightning struck Bojnourd on Saturday, IRNA reported.
